Adrian Caliman, born in Maracaibo, Venezuela, initiated his bass-playing career as a teenager in 1991. Growing up in Manchester, England, he was heavily influenced by British music, particularly artists like The Beatles, Yes, Genesis, Queen, Marillion, and Rush from Canada. During middle school, he began writing meaningful and emotional songs, and his first recording session with the band "Signos" took place in 1992.
Over the decades, Caliman has been an active participant in various bands, with a special focus on his role in the Beatles tribute band "Beatlemania," co-founded in 1998. His performances as Paul McCartney took him from small gigs to prominent venues, concert halls, and theatres across the country. Notable achievements include opening for recognized Venezuelan musicians.
In July 2016, Caliman ventured into music production with the musical "Let It Be," based on the film "Across the Universe," in Maracaibo, Venezuela. Besides recording and songwriting, he joined the Houston-based musical group "Segunda Nave" in October 2019. Together, they have released several songs, and currently, they are working on a forthcoming album.
Looking ahead, 2024 promises to be a prolific year for Caliman. He is set to produce a documentary titled "This is the History of my Band," dedicated to the music group "Vanguardia," of which he was a part in the 90s. In his own words, "I will supervise the recording and mixing of the new music included in the documentary, collaborating with Giancarlo Roversi, a musician-producer based in Madrid. Additionally, I am responsible for cataloging the rest of the music in the band's archives for mastering and use in the documentary.
